'Orchid', Watercolour, 50cm X 30cm .

This was painted on Massa paper, giving a soft batik effect. The orchid was growing in my conservatory, along with a collection of other flowers that I have grown for painting. Initially, I had decided to paint in a very loose style, but in the end the painting became quite detailed.
