'Winter Scene near Croxton Kerrial', Watercolour, 17 inches X 12 inches.

This is one of my favourite winter landscapes. It evokes the wondeful memories of the day we took the photograph. It was very icy and cold, but somehow there was a warm glow from the setting sun that afternoon. It is painted using watercolours on bonded massa paper, a technique of 'wet into wet' as an initial stage was used. Detail was added only in the later stages.
